Guatemala is a country of fertile land and a variety of microclimates that allow for the growth of high quality wood such as Cedar, Mahogany, Rosul, Palo Blanco, Hormigón amongst others. The main export destinations are El Salvador, Honduras, Costa Rica, United States, Mexico, Colombia, Peru, Chile, Italy, Brazil, Venezuela, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, Argentina, Belgium and Spain.
What does Guatemala have to offer?
  • In 2013, Guatemala generated a total of US $816.2 million in forest products exports in 2013 generated up to $100 million. By nature a highly forested country with a total of 772,078.94 hectares of forest area where 82% is hardwood forests, 10% is coniferous forest, and the remaining 8% are mixed forests.

GUATEMALA HAS THE GREATEST QUANTITY
of certified forest coverage

Guatemala is a DR-CAFTA country with the largest quantity of certified forest area in the region, having over 772 thousands hectares and more than 430 thousand hectares certified by the Forestry Management Council. The country guarantees not only availability of raw material but also social and environmental management, according to the most important international requirements.
